Written in the fantasy-epic genre, The Seven Demon Princes of Hell – SATAN by Reuben B Mushaike takes the readers to the beginning of time. The time when Anna, the wife of god Joseph, gave birth to twins. Satan and Jehovah were both the heirs to the throne of heaven. While Satan was more adventurous, Jehovah was more of an obedient son. Sensing an inherent evil inside Satan, Joseph did not wish to see him seated on the throne. His prejudice was not lost on Satan. He knew that his dream to claim the throne for himself would only come true if he gained knowledge and power like no other. So, he sought the tutelage of Diablo, the only one who took a stand for Satan. And then, in his blind pursuit to power, he did something that filled even his hardened soul with heavy guilt. The repercussions of his heinous act ensued a lifetime of rivalry between the brothers.

Joseph had found fault in Satan’s tactics, stealing his crown from him to his favoured son. Satan had fought back. He knew he had to fight twice as hard to win, and instead of giving up, he had tightened his belt and gotten to work. Now the two warriors faced off once again, growling at each other like caged tigers. The stakes could not be higher.

As gripping as the plot is, the storytelling is exquisite. Reuben B Mushaike plays a symphony of words that paints an almost tangible picture of the atmosphere, architecture, and emotions. The delicious combination of simile and metaphors in the story delivers the spellbinding magic of poetry. In Satan, Reuben B Mushaike has presented a villain that the audience hates to love. His atrocious actions would have made it easier to despise him. However, his actions stemmed from his deep desire to lay claim to his birthright. He fought harder and nastier because he didn’t want his father to just handover the throne to Jehovah. The resulting wrestling of emotions not only intrigued the readers but also injected a sense of injustice inside of them. The Seven Demon Princes of Hell – SATAN by Reuben B Mushaike binds the readers to its pages with engrossing twists, excellent prose, and a smooth pace.

“Make him wish he was never born.”

“Why do you hate the boy so much?” Mary kept pushing. “He is as much your son as Jehovah. Killing him will not make that any different. In fact, it will only make you a monster. Do you even hear what I’m saying?”

“I don’t care. I want nothing to do with him.”

“But why? You are not answering me-“

“Because of the prophecy dammit!”
