A World of Zombies in the book Lord Love A Zombie

Lord Love a Zombie by Nina Hobson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lord Love A Zombie by Nina Hobson is an incredible book for the curious minds, who wanted to know how would a world filled with zombies look like. Marshall, Jules, Jeff, Connor, Henry, and Cynthia are trying to reach a human survivor camp. With the streets full of zombie police, humans hunters, “Ragers” among others, their chances of survival are pretty low. In their quest to reach their destination, they bump into a Zombie family. This family has four members: Abner, Ernest, Anna, and Jackie. On seeing Marshall and other humans of his group, Jackie offers them to stay with her family. She insists that her family is not like other zombies. Now, the humans have to choose from one of the two available choices: 1. Believe her and risk becoming her family’s food. 2. Decline her offer and try to survive with no help. They must, however, pick a side for the sake of their lives.

The imagination of Nina is brilliant and knows no bounds. She picked up a typical concept of zombie and gave it a whole new existence. The author has introduced her own take on zombies in a very interesting manner. There are human flesh-eating zombies — who we have seen in the movies — and other zombies who wish to see zombies and humans exist together. The latter group of zombies implements their own methods to ensure that the inhumanity against their “food” stops. Nina has even mentioned a few zombie scientists — innovative, right!

The characters and their conversations are realistic. Throughout the read, I felt a magnetic hold on me. I could not put down the book without reading until the end. The good zombies’ sacrifice to ensure the safety of humans is written in a very spellbinding manner. As a reader, I could not help myself from admiring their determination to rescue the people whom their own kind considers food. The delivery of the plot is written with immense clarity, which is capable enough to make a reader feel that everything is happening in front of their eyes.

Even though this is not my genre of choice, yet I liked this book due to an extraordinary plot. I believe, this book would impress the readers who enjoy thriller mixed with fantasy. All said and done, the events of the book gave me goosebumps a couple of times.
